Silent Power Co. — DMV

Generator rental for backyard parties in DC, Maryland and Virginia

Without the generator noise

Bounce house. Slide. A DJ or a speaker. Coffee for the parents, food staying warm, lights for when it runs long.

That's more power than a backyard outlet is going to give you — and the usual fix, a rented gas generator roaring on the side of the house for six hours, is exactly what nobody wants at a kids' birthday party.

We deliver silent battery power to backyards across Chevy Chase, Bethesda, McLean, Potomac, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Arlington, Alexandria and Great Falls. It runs the whole party without a sound, without a smell, and without you doing anything.

The bounce house problem

Inflatables are the single most common reason we get backyard calls. A bounce house or inflatable slide needs a continuously running blower — it deflates the moment power stops. Which means for the entire party, something has to be delivering steady power.

Do that with a gas generator and you have an engine running nonstop, a few feet from where the kids are playing, for the entire afternoon: the noise, the exhaust, and a hot fuel-burning machine in a yard full of children.

A battery unit runs the blower silently, with no exhaust and no carbon monoxide, and nothing hot or fuel-fed anywhere near the kids. You can hold a conversation next to it.

What a backyard party actually needs

The part that actually matters: you do nothing

Think about what the alternative weekend looks like. Drive to Home Depot. Wait at the rental counter. Get a 200-pound generator into your vehicle — and back out of it. Buy gas cans. Fill them. Get it running. Refuel it during your own kid's party. Return it Monday, on your time.

Or: we roll it into your yard on a cart, set it where you want it, plug in your inflatable and your speakers, and pick it up after. Delivery, setup, and pickup are included within 20 miles of Chevy Chase, DC. You never touch it, never fuel it, and never smell it.

We bring the power distribution unit and the cords. Just have a spot for it under cover — out of direct sun and rain.

Quiet enough that the party sounds like a party

A typical portable gas generator runs 60–75 dB. Ours are rated under 30 dB. Because decibels are logarithmic, every 10 dB is perceived as roughly double the loudness — so this isn't "a little quieter," it's the difference between an engine you're shouting over and something you forget is there.

For a backyard in a quiet neighborhood, that also means no complaints from the neighbors and no engine noise bleeding into every video you take that day.

Backyard party questions

Can it run a bounce house all afternoon?

That's one of our most common requests. Blowers need continuous power; tell us how many inflatables and how many hours and we'll size it right.

Is it safe around kids?

There's no fuel, no flame, no exhaust, and no carbon monoxide. Nothing is combusting. We position it out of the way and cover the cord runs.

Will the neighbors hear it?

No. Under 30 dB is quieter than normal conversation. This is a big reason we get calls in Chevy Chase, Bethesda and McLean.

Can it also run the music and the food?

Generally yes — a speaker system, warming trays, coolers and a coffee setup together are a typical backyard load. Heavier appliances just mean more batteries.

Do you deliver on weekends?

We operate Friday, Saturday and Sunday for most events, with weekdays by request.

How much space does it need?

Roughly the footprint of a small mini fridge on a wheeled cart. It tucks against a fence, on a patio, or beside the house — it just needs to stay out of direct sun and rain.

When a gas or diesel generator is genuinely the better call.

If you're running electric cooking, air conditioning, or a full caterer's hot line, you need more sustained power than a battery setup delivers. We'll tell you that on the phone rather than sell you something that won't work. We'd rather point you somewhere else than have your event go dark.
